Knowing Where to Build Is a Large Part of the Enjoyment of the Final Customer Log or Timber-Framed Home

There is a great deal of satisfaction when you can enjoy the craftsmanship, quality materials and one-of-a-kind custom log or timber framed home on your own land. Southwest Log Homes and Southwest Log and Timber Works has built custom homes throughout the United States and travel great lengths to procure quality historic logs and timber so that our customers will enjoy the results every day.

That being said, where you build the custom home is as much apart of the original design and whether our clients will truly enjoy their habitation built into their selected landscape. With every project, we take time to scope out the land, survey the terrain and determine what vistas will offer the families the greatest enjoyment.

One of our newly completed homes in the Jacksboro, Texas area includes the perfect combination of beautiful rugged landscape, great lake views, beautiful stone work and high and low terrain while being nestled around the surrounding landscape, and away from the world. Once the location was selected, chief architect, David Barfield, went to work planning and designing the new home floorpan to become part of the landscape. Making use of the multi-level landscape with a view to the large lake, it is centered to provide a great indoor and outdoor living, with a perfect view of the sunrise and sunset each day. Mr. Barfield designed the rest of the home to merge into the large boulders and beautiful oak trees without too much excavation and steering away from disturbing the land. The results are a home that truly nestles into the landscape well.
